My maiden name, Kawase, means river rapids in Japan – where my family hails from. True to my name, my jewelry designs are inspired by the sculpting force of rapids and the dance of light created by cascading water. The metaphorical river rapids at the confluence of two distinctive cultural rivers mix artistic traditions and result in jewelry that is elegant, sinuous and sculptural.

Each piece of jewelry is carefully sculpted from clay embedded with fine silver. This labor intensive process yields refined and sophisticated results. Embellishments of argentium, sterling, gold, dichroic glass and gems highlight fine silver. And out of a reverence for nature, only reclaimed silver is used, and all production methods are sustainable.
